My Closest Accommodation to Dresden Landmark

I have always longed to travel to Dresden, Germany. There are many treasures, historical landmarks and palaces worth appreciating here. Although North Germany is not the first choice for Taiwanese people to travel, after actual visits, I found that there are indeed many rare and beautiful scenic spots and treasure.

Among the many landmarks, 'Frauenkirche' is the most attractive landmark on the square, and the hotel I stayed in was right next to this attraction.

I thought of this trip as early as 6 years ago. At that time, there were no modern hotels anywhere. Even the hotel brands we are familiar with in Dresden have extremely old decorations. And surprisingly, there are no 5-star hotels in this city, therefore I had to give up. In 2024, I searched for hotels again, and finally found a few 4-star hotels that looked relatively new. The Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe I stayed in is located in the center of the old town of the Saxon capital (Neumarkt Dresden). Adjacent to the landmark Frauenkirche , it takes about 7 to 10 minutes' walk from the hotel to visit landmarks such as the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger Palace and the Royal Palace. All important attractions are located near the hotel.

The modern facilities of Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe is much better than other local hotels.

There is a bar in the lobby, and the sofa area is simple and elegant.

Spacious and Comfortable

As most of the hotels in the old town are old and dilapidated, I had postponed my visit to Dresden for 6 years. However, the rooms at the Steigenberger Hotel de Saxe are novel and should have been completely remodeled. The room space is very spacious and enjoy the sights of Dresden.

The bathroom is also very spacious and well cleaned.

Made My Stay Worthy and Enjoyable

What surprised me the most was that from the room, I had a panoramic view of Dresden's landmark square and Frauenkirche.

After a day of sightseeing, when I return to my room, I always like to make a cup of coffee and enjoy the rare city view by the window. This is the only time in all my years of traveling in Europe that I can enjoy the window view of a landmark in my room.

It is an unparalleled pleasure to be able to drink coffee in your own room while admiring the beautiful scenery of the landmark.

The breakfast in this hotel is the richest among the 4-star hotels I have stayed in, and different items are served in different sections. There are also many choices for bread

Spreads and cakes are all available.

In addition to fruit salad, there are also a variety of other fruit options, even including strawberries and mangoes, which surprised me.

Yogurt and nuts are all there. It’s really rich.

Having Breakfast on the Balcony with Precious View

Makes Me So Happy

I chose to have breakfast on the balcony, where I could admire the beautiful buildings of the old town and Frauenkirche up close. The birds on the square could not resist the temptation of food and came to the balcony to wait for opportunities.

The next morning, a bird landed directly on my plate and feasted on it, causing me to have to pick up my meal again. It is a very rare and interesting experience for me.

It’s rare to be able to be in the same frame with the landmark scenery and eat a sumptuous breakfast. I feel so satisfied. I am glad that after waiting for 6 years, the hotel industry in Dresden has finally revived and I can share it with those who yearn for Dresden.
